Scotland’s all-rounder Brandon McMullen has been signed by Sudurpaschim Royals for the upcoming Nepal Premier League (NPL). The team made the announcement on their social media on Monday.
At 25, McMullen is already an experienced player, having featured in 22 ODIs and 16 T20Is for Scotland. His top scores include 136 in ODIs and 96 in T20Is. McMullen is no stranger to Nepal, having played here last year in the ICC World Cup League-2. Sudurpaschim Royals are excited about his addition, believing he will strengthen their lineup for the NPL.
The Royals, led by marquee player Dipendra Singh Airee, have also brought in Jagat Tamata as head coach for the tournament. To further boost their chances, former Australian cricketer Brad Hodge has been appointed as the team’s chief mentor. Hodge, a key part of Australia’s 2007 World Cup-winning squad, has extensive experience, including stints with Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. His leadership is expected to provide valuable guidance to the team.
The inaugural NPL will take place from November 30 to December 20, 2024, featuring 8 teams.
